Job Description: Water Resources Engineer/Designer in Charlotte, NC

A full-service engineering firm in Charlotte, North Carolina, is seeking a Water Resources Engineer/Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in stormwater drainage planning, research, modeling, and design. This position offers the opportunity to work on impactful projects, collaborate with a dynamic team, and grow within a reputable firm.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, design, and develop stormwater drainage solutions for roadway and street projects.
  • Conduct research, modeling, and analysis to support project planning and execution.
  • Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D for design and drafting.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare reports, calculations, and project documentation.
  • Assist with permitting and regulatory coordination.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in stormwater drainage design, particularly for roadway and street drainage.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is required.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with software such as ArcGIS, StormCAD, Flowmaster, HY8, CulvertMaster, HEC-RAS, HydroCAD, AdobePro, ICPR is a plus.
