Position Overview

Location: 2058 University Avenue, Berkeley, California. Pay range starts at $100,000. Eligible for a monthly bonus based on performance goals and successful completion of training.

Responsibilities

• Drive retail store operations to achieve daily, monthly, quarterly, and yearly goals for operating income, revenue, and production.
• Lead and develop the Assistant Store Manager(s), Production Team, and Donation Attendants, building a bench of future leaders and ensuring succession.
• Manage financial performance, including payroll, operating costs, inventory levels, and budget compliance.
• Oversee donation processing, inventory control, product pricing and display to meet company standards.
• Ensure outstanding customer service to donors and customers, maintaining cleanliness and brand presentation.
• Partner with community businesses and organizations to promote the Goodwill mission.
• Coordinate with the Retail District Manager for strategic plans and cross‑store allocation of donations and staff.
• Perform performance management for all Team Members, including coaching, discipline, and annual reviews.
• Support change management initiatives and company culture efforts.
• Assume temporary assignments or shift coverage at other stores as business needs dictate.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of experience leading 40+ FTEs in a high‑volume retail or thrift environment.
• Preferred experience with $3M+ annual revenue and proven ability to generate revenue and meet production goals.
• Strong understanding of financial metrics, reporting, and budget management.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Background check clearance as required.
• English speaking and reading proficiency.
• Reliable transportation for store duties and training sessions.
• Ability to pass a background check, as applicable.
