Job summary

CoreWeave is hiring for a senior storage systems engineer to design and scale exabyte-scale, S3-compatible storage for AI workloads. You will work across RDMA, GPU Direct Storage, and distributed file systems to optimize performance and resilience.

Ideal candidates have 8–10+ years in storage, strong Go/C/Rust skills, and experience with Ceph/DAOS, NFS, and telemetry stacks like Prometheus and Grafana. This on-site role offers a competitive package and growth within CoreWeave.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 8-10+ years of experience in storage systems engineering or infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience with object storage or distributed filesystems in production.
• Experience with storage protocols (e.g. S3, NFS) and filesystems like Ceph, DAOS.
• Proficiency in Go, C, or Rust.
• Proficiency leveraging AI tools to augment development.
• Familiarity with storage observability tools and telemetry pipelines (e.g., ClickHouse, Prometheus, Grafana).
• Experience with cloud-native infrastructure, Kubernetes, and scalable architectures.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement distributed storage solutions to support scaling AI workloads.
• Contribute to exabyte-scale, S3-compatible object storage and integrate storage clusters into customer environments.
• Work with RDMA, GPU Direct Storage, and FS protocols (NFS/FUSE) to optimize storage performance.
• Lead efforts to improve reliability, durability, security, and observability of the storage stack.
• Collaborate with operations to monitor, troubleshoot, and improve production storage systems.
• Set the bar for metrics and dashboards to provide visibility into storage performance and health.
• Analyze telemetry and system data to drive throughput, latency, and resilience improvements.
• Work cross-functionally to deliver storage capabilities across the stack.
• Share knowledge and mentor engineers on best practices for distributed, high-performance systems.
