Job summary

Humana Inc. is seeking a Senior Storage Engineer (L3) to lead enterprise backup, recovery, and data protection across on‑prem, cloud, and hybrid environments. You will architect, implement, and optimize storage platforms, drive cyber resilience, and partner with security, cloud, and application teams.

You will design scalable backup solutions, automate provisioning and reporting, and mentor engineers while ensuring compliance, security, and reliable recoverability of critical services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, CS, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years in enterprise backup, storage, or data protection.
• 5+ years with one or more enterprise backup platforms: IBM Storage Protect, IBM Storage Defender Data Protect, Commvault, Rubrik, Dell PPDM.
• Experience with VMware, Windows, Linux, and cloud.
• Strong scripting and automation experience.
• Proven project management experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise backup and recovery architectures.
• Engineer scalable, resilient backup across physical, virtual, cloud, SaaS, and container environments.
• Develop and maintain backup standards, runbooks, and documentation.
• Lead platform upgrades, migrations, and modernization initiatives.
• Define recovery objectives and testing standards.
