Qualifications

• Proven estimating experience in construction, specialist contracting, fit-out, stone, kitchens, fabrication or manufacturing.
• Strong commercial awareness with numerical and analytical ability.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and technical drawings and specifications.
• Experience reviewing BOQs, tender documents and project requirements.
• Strong understanding of project costing, margins and commercial risk.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to deliver accurate work to deadlines.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills and confidence with estimating/costing systems.
• Professional communication skills with clients and project teams.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate estimates and quotations for quartz, Dekton, marble, granite, natural stone and porcelain projects.
• Review drawings, specs, schedules and Bills of Quantities.
• Calculate material quantities, wastage, fabrication, labour, transport and installation costs.
• Price residential, commercial, fit-out and specialist projects.
• Manage tender enquiries and pricing requests from review to submission.
• Prepare pricing breakdowns and cost plans for management and clients.
• Identify scope gaps, exclusions, commercial risks and opportunities.
• Support pricing strategy for larger projects.
• Maintain estimating records and improve pricing data.

Reporting to Senior Management

The Opportunity

Our client is a leading specialist stone contractor supplying, fabricating and installing premium natural stone, quartz and porcelain surfaces. Working with architects, designers, developers, contractors and private clients, the business delivers bespoke worktops, floors, surfaces and specialist projects throughout Ireland.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate estimates and detailed quotations for quartz, Dekton, marble, granite, natural stone and porcelain projects.
• Review architectural and technical drawings, specifications, schedules and Bills of Quantities.
• Calculate material requirements, slab quantities, wastage, fabrication, labour, transport and installation costs.
• Price residential, commercial, fit-out and specialist construction projects.
• Manage tender enquiries and pricing requests from initial review through to quotation submission.
• Prepare clear pricing breakdowns and cost plans for management and clients.
• Identify scope gaps, exclusions, commercial risks and opportunities before quotations are issued.
• Work with senior management on pricing strategy for larger or commercially significant projects.
• Maintain accurate estimating records and contribute to improved pricing systems and cost data.
• Liaise with clients, architects, designers, kitchen companies, builders, developers and contractors as required.

Candidate Requirements

• Proven experience in estimating within construction, specialist contracting, fit-out, stone, kitchens, fabrication or manufacturing.
• Strong commercial awareness with excellent numerical and analytical ability.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and technical drawings and specifications.
• Experience reviewing BOQs, tender documents and project requirements.
• Strong understanding of project costing, margins and commercial risk.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to deliver accurate work to deadlines.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with estimating or costing systems.
• Professional communication skills and confidence dealing with clients and project teams.
• Excellent organisation, prioritisation and problem-solving skills.

Desirable Experience

• Experience estimating stone, quartz, granite, marble, porcelain or bespoke kitchen worktops.
• A qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, Construction Management or a related discipline.
• Understanding of stone fabrication, templating, production and installation processes.
• Experience working with main contractors or in a specialist subcontracting environment.
• Experience using CAD, estimating, scheduling or project management software.
