Qualifications

This position requires a degree of Bachelor of Laws or Juris Doctor from an accredited law school, membership in the Florida Bar, and five years of criminal trial experience.

Responsibilities

Serve as Special Counsel for a specific area of prosecution and act as the office POC for those cases.
Review and evaluate evidence for prosecution of criminal cases.
Prepare and file charging instruments and coordinate case intake decisions.
Advise and assist investigations, including reviewing search warrants and surveillance orders.
Make charging decisions in consultation with the Bureau Chief.
Coordinate with other divisions and law enforcement for civil or administrative remedies.
Represent the State at bond hearings, pre-trial motions, calendar calls, trials and post-trial proceedings.
Maintain documentation and compliance with discovery requirements; manage witness depositions.
Collaborate with appellate staff on record preparation and appellate issues.
Travel as required to perform investigative, litigation, and training functions.
