The Office of the Attorney General seeks an experienced Assistant Statewide Prosecutor and Senior Attorney to join the Statewide Prosecution team in Florida. This role requires strong trial experience and collaboration with law enforcement for case intake, charging, and prosecution.

Responsibilities include reviewing evidence, filing charging documents, handling discovery, representing the State at hearings and trials, and contributing to appellate work and policy considerations.

Qualifications

• Membership in the Florida Bar and five (5) years of criminal trial experience.

Responsibilities

• Review evidence for prosecution of criminal cases.
• Submit data and recommendations for intake decisions to accept or reject cases for prosecution.
• Advise investigating agencies and prepare cases for prosecution, including reviewing warrants and statements.
• Make charging decisions in consultation with supervisors.
• Coordinate with other divisions and law enforcement for civil or administrative remedies.
• Prepare and file charging instruments.
• Coordinate surrender/arrest of defendants on charges.
• Represent the State at bond hearings and in court proceedings.
• Manage discovery scope and attend witness depositions.
• Represent the State in pre-trial motions, calendar calls, and at trial and post-trial hearings.
• Assist appellate matters and contribute to record preparation and briefs.
• Support legislative priorities for criminal justice reform.
