Job summary

The Office of the Attorney General in Florida seeks an ASST STW PROSECUTOR-SENIOR ATTORNEY-DLA to join the statewide prosecution team. The role involves reviewing evidence, making charging decisions, and coordinating with law enforcement to advance criminal cases.

Requirements include Florida Bar membership and five years of criminal trial experience; preference for applicants with criminal prosecution experience.

Qualifications

• Must be a member of the Florida Bar and have five years of criminal trial law experience.
• Preference may be given to applicants with criminal prosecution experience.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing and evaluating evidence for prosecution of criminal cases.
• Submitting data and recommendations to the Chief Assistant for intake decisions to accept or reject cases for prosecution.
• Advising and assisting the investigating agency in investigations and preparation of cases for prosecution, including review of warrants and orders, statements, and expert consultation.
• Making charging decisions based on all relevant factors in consultation with the Bureau Chief Assistant.
• Representing the State at bond hearings, pre-trial motions, and at trial, and handling post-trial proceedings.
