The Office of the Attorney General in Florida is seeking an ASSISTANT STATEWIDE PROSECUTOR-SENIOR ATTORNEY to lead complex criminal prosecutions and advise on legal strategy. Qualifications

• Membership in the Florida Bar and five (5) years of criminal trial experience.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing and evaluating evidence for prosecution of criminal cases.
• Submitting data and recommendations for intake decisions to accept or reject cases for prosecution.
• Advising investigating agencies and preparing cases for prosecution, including review of warrants, surveillance applications, and witness statements.
• Making charging decisions based on factors in consultation with the Bureau Chief Assistant.
• Coordinating with other divisions and law enforcement for civil or administrative remedies.
• Preparing and filing charging instruments.
• Representing the State at bond hearings, depositions, and pre-trial motions.
• Representing the State at trial, post-trial hearings, and sentencing proceedings.
• Assisting appellate matters and preparing the record on appeal when necessary.
• Traveling as required to perform investigative, litigation, and training functions.
