Job summary

Office of the Attorney General in Fort Lauderdale, Florida seeks a Senior Assistant Statewide Prosecutor with extensive criminal trial experience. You will prosecute cases, coordinate with law enforcement, manage discovery, and handle post-trial matters in a statewide framework.

The role requires Florida Bar membership and strong prosecutorial skills, with opportunities for appellate work and legislative input within the Statewide Prosecution structure.

Qualifications

• Membership in the Florida Bar and five (5) years of criminal trial experience.
• Preference will be given to candidates with criminal prosecution experience.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing and evaluating evidence for prosecution of criminal cases.
• Submitting data and recommendations for intake decisions on cases for prosecution.
• Advising and assisting investigating agencies in investigations and case preparation.
• Making charging decisions in consultation with the Bureau Chief Assistant.
• Coordinating with other divisions and agencies for civil or administrative remedies.
• Preparing and filing charging instruments.
• Representing the State at bond hearings, pre-trial motions, and at trial.
• Attending depositions and managing discovery materials and related proceedings.
• Maintaining documentation and data entry in the case tracking system.
• Assisting in appellate matter preparation and legislative priority formulation.
