Job summary

CesiumAstro in Austin, TX is seeking a Senior Staff Electrical Engineer to lead end-to-end hardware development for space-grade electronics, from concept through production. You will shepherd complex modules, guide architecture, and mentor engineers in a fast-paced startup environment.

The role requires BS in EE, 12+ years of board-level design experience, expertise in high-reliability space hardware, Altium, SI/PI analysis, and strong communication with customers and executives.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum 12 years in board-level electronics design, analysis, and test.
• Experience with space or defense applications and high-reliability electronics.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end design of complex electronics modules and systems.
• Lead hardware teams to develop multi-module products.
• Develop hardware architecture and requirements.
• Perform detailed schematic design and PCB layout.
• Conduct SI/PI/thermal analyses and verification tests.
• Develop bring-up plans and design verification plans.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with software/mechanical teams.
• Present design reviews to customers and executives.
