Job summary

GEICO is seeking a Senior Staff Engineer to drive high-performance, low-maintenance platforms and zero-downtime applications. You will partner with Distinguished Engineers and Sr. Engineers to shape the technical roadmap, lead execution, and mentor teams across the enterprise.

You will influence executives, collaborate with product managers, and ensure scalable, reliable systems while embracing DevOps practices and IaC.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in complex system design and data pipelines.
• Knowledge of governance/policy engines (OPA/Cloud Custodian).
• Proficiency in at least one OOP language (Go or Python).
• Experience with CI/CD and infrastructure as code.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical strategy and execution of platform engineering roadmap.
• Collaborate with product managers and other teams to solve critical problems.
• Ensure quality, usability, and performance of solutions.
• Mentor engineers and influence executives on technical matters.
• Participate in cost analysis and resource forecasting.
