Job summary

GEICO is seeking an Senior Staff Engineering Manager to lead engineering strategy and execution for a core insurance platform. You will drive the technical roadmap, architecture, and velocity of product delivery across multiple teams, with a focus on performance, reliability, and cloud infrastructure.

The role requires deep experience in microservices, data architecture, and leadership in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Exemplary ability to influence engineering direction and product roadmap.
• Experience leading architecture and design of scalable systems.
• Strong knowledge of data observability, traceability, and testing.
• Expertise in designing microservices with GraphQL, gRPC, Java, Python, Kafka.
• Deep OO design with Java and at least one other modern language.
• ETL and SQL, including bitemporal data modeling.
• API migration experience and shadow/dual-write strategies.
• Leadership of full-stack SaaS product development.
• Proficiency with MySQL/PostgreSQL and NoSQL databases.
