Job summary

GEICO is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to lead the design and development of the next-generation Release Platform and DevOps tooling for 3000+ engineers. You will architect scalable, observable, and policy-driven software delivery across a large enterprise, mentoring junior staff and partnering with security and platform teams.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience building internal developer platforms and DevOps tooling for large-scale orgs.
• Experience with Python, Go, .NET and TypeScript/React for platform services and automation.
• Proficient with Kubernetes, service discovery, network policies, and multi-cloud deployments.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain internal Release Platform services and tooling for automated software delivery.
• Develop and enhance CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows using Azure DevOps Pipelines and GitHub Actions.
• Create policy-as-code governance using Open Policy Agent (OPA) to enforce deployment rules and approvals.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate across infrastructure, platform, and security teams.
• Embed security guardrails and auditability into the release process.
• Improve observability with monitoring, logging, and tracing.
