Job summary

ShiftKey is seeking a Staff Site Reliability Engineer to set the technical direction for our multi-cloud infrastructure and ensure availability, stability, and scale of our SaaS platform. You’ll own architectural decisions and drive observability, reliability, and cost optimization.

You’ll work with engineering leadership, mentor teams on best practices, and lead evaluations and migrations across cloud providers in a fully remote role based in the United States.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in DevOps, infrastructure, or systems administration with 3+ in a dedicated DevOps/SRE role.
• Production experience operating Kubernetes across multiple cloud providers.
• Experience with declarative infrastructure-as-code and modular design.
• Hands-on GitOps tooling, observability stacks, and scripting for automation.
• Track record of multi-phase roadmaps and major platform migrations.

Responsibilities

• Automate complex infrastructure changes using code-driven provisioning to keep clouds scalable and resilient.
• Provide architectural guidance across multiple clouds and manage evaluations and POCs.
• Deploy, manage, and optimize production Kubernetes clusters and GitOps CD workflows.
• Own observability with metrics, dashboards, and proactive alerting; participate in on-call rotations.
• Develop disaster recovery plans and test business continuity procedures.
• Track cloud spend, detect anomalies, and propose cost-saving architectural changes.
• Mentor engineers on infrastructure best practices and lead cross-functional initiatives.
