Job summary

Altana seeks a Senior Staff Machine Learning Engineer to lead the AI behind Altana Nexus, our agentic platform for global trade. You will design architectures for real-time risk, compliance, and enforcement decisions using trade data such as shipments, declarations and invoices.

You will mentor engineers, shape ML talent, and collaborate with product, customers and data scientists to ship capabilities that scale globally.

Qualifications

• 8+ years building and shipping ML systems in production.
• Experience with LLM-powered products and agentic systems.
• Proficient in PyTorch and modern Python ML stack.

Responsibilities

• Define architecture and roadmap for agentic systems processing trade data in real time.
• Design scalable ingestion-to-decision pipelines for document understanding and entity resolution.
• Tune and post-train models (SFT, DPO, RL with domain graders) for production use.
• Build observability and feedback loops to detect regressions in production.
