Altana is hiring a Senior Staff Machine Learning Engineer to lead the AI behind Altana Nexus, our platform for global trade. You will work on streaming trade data and build models that drive real-time risk, classification and compliance decisions for governments and major enterprises.

The role emphasizes architecture leadership, production ML systems, and scaling agentic workflows across teams. Remote/hybrid work option with US/UK base and hub locations in NYC, Boston, DC, or London.

Competenze

• 10+ years building and shipping ML systems in production.
• Proven track record with product-oriented ML solutions.
• Experience shipping LLM-powered products and agentic workflows.
• Strong ability to mentor engineers and shape roadmaps.

Mansioni

• Define architecture and roadmap for models and agentic systems processing trade data in real time.
• Design reliable, cost-efficient ingestion, understanding, inference and routing pipelines.
• Fine-tune models with analyst feedback and domain graders for better performance.
• Build observability, evals, tracing and feedback loops to catch production regressions.
• Mentor senior engineers and influence cross-team ML practices.
