Job summary

Cisco is pursuing a Technical Leader to define and build core identity capabilities across cloud, on‑prem, and hybrid environments. You will shape architectural strategy from concept to production, delivering scalable, secure software that enables AI systems and non-human agents.

You will architect identity frameworks, deliver robust APIs and SDKs, collaborate with Security, AI Platform, and Cloud Operations, and mentor engineers while driving engineering excellence and rapid MVP delivery.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering experience or 8+ years with a Master’s degree.
• 10+ years designing and building distributed systems, backend services, or security platforms in production.
• 5+ years implementing enterprise identity, authentication, or access protocols (OAuth 2.0/2.1, OIDC, SAML, SCIM, LDAP, SPIFFE, or mTLS).
• 4+ years with containerization technologies (Docker, containerd, Kubernetes) and at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• 3+ years of security engineering principles, including threat modeling and security architecture reviews.

Responsibilities

• Architect and build core identity capabilities across cloud, on-prem, and hybrid architectures.
• Deliver developer tooling & APIs with reusable SDKs, CLI tools, and integration patterns.
• Drive cross-functional alignment with Security, AI Platform, Product, and Cloud Operations teams.
• Lead technical excellence through architectural direction, reviews, and engineering standards.
• Deliver production MVPs by prototyping and iterating scalable services.
