Job summary

Cisco is seeking a Technical Leader to define and build core identity capabilities across cloud, on‑prem, and hybrid architectures. You’ll lead technical strategy from concept to production, translating identity and access challenges into scalable, enterprise‑grade software that powers AI systems.

You will architect security‑centric solutions, deliver reusable APIs and tooling, mentor engineers, and drive cross‑functional alignment with Security, AI Platform, Product, and Cloud Ops.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field with 12+ years of software engineering experience, or Master’s with 8+ years of experience.
• 10+ years designing and building distributed systems, backend services, or security platforms in production.
• 5+ years implementing enterprise identity, authentication, or access protocols (OAuth 2.0/2.1, OIDC, SAML, SCIM, LDAP, SPIFFE, or mTLS).
• 4+ years containerization (Docker, containerd, or Kubernetes) and at least one major cloud (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• 3+ years security engineering principles, including threat modeling and architecture reviews.

Responsibilities

• Architect and build core identity capabilities across cloud, on‑prem, and hybrid architectures.
• Deliver developer tooling, APIs, SDKs, and integration patterns for platform teams.
• Drive cross‑functional alignment with Security, AI Platform, Product, and Cloud Ops teams.
• Lead technical excellence: set architectural direction, code reviews, and engineering standards.
• Deliver production MVPs: prototype, validate with partners, and scale production services.
