Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc. seeks a Technical Leader to define and build core identity capabilities across cloud, on-prem, and hybrid architectures. You will spearhead technical strategy from concept to production, translating identity and security challenges into enterprise-grade software powering AI systems.

You will mentor engineers, set standards, and deliver MVPs, working with Security, AI Platform, Product, and Cloud Operations to align architecture with customer workflows.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering with a Bachelor's, or 8+ years with a Master’s.
• 10+ years designing distributed systems and security platforms in production.
• 5+ years implementing enterprise identity, authentication, or access protocols (OAuth/OIDC/SAML/SCIM/LDAP/SPIFFE/mTLS).
• 4+ years of containerization and at least one major cloud platform (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• 3+ years of security engineering principles, including threat modeling and architecture reviews.

Responsibilities

• Architect and build core identity capabilities for AI agents across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid architectures.
• Deliver reusable APIs, SDKs, CLI tools, and MCP-based access patterns for platform teams.
• Drive cross-functional alignment with Security, AI Platform, Product, and Cloud Operations.
• Lead architectural direction, code reviews, and engineering standards for non-human identity.
• Prototype and scale production MVPs by validating with partners and iterating into services.
