Job summary

Cisco Systems is seeking a Technical Leader to define and build core identity capabilities across cloud, on-prem, and hybrid architectures. You will lead technical strategy from concept through production deployment, turning complex identity and access challenges into enterprise-grade software powering AI systems.

You will architect scalable identity frameworks, deliver APIs and tooling, and drive cross-functional alignment with Security, AI Platform, Product, and Cloud Operations.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering experience or 8+ years with a Master’s degree.
• 10+ years designing and building distributed systems or security platforms.
• 5+ years implementing enterprise identity, authentication, or access protocols (OAuth/OIDC/SAML/SCIM/LDAP/SPIFFE/mTLS).

Responsibilities

• Architect and build core identity capabilities across cloud, on-prem, and hybrid architectures.
• Deliver reusable APIs, SDKs, CLI tools, and integration patterns.
• Drive cross-functional alignment with Security, AI Platform, Product, and Cloud Ops teams.
• Lead technical excellence: architecture direction, design reviews, and mentoring.
• Deliver production MVPs by prototyping and iterating into scalable services.
