Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer to lead end-to-end hardware development for high-reliability space electronics. You will drive concept through production, supervise hardware teams, and ensure robust designs with strong SI/PI validation.

Excellent communication is essential for customer and internal reviews. The role requires a BS in Electrical Engineering, 8+ years of board-level experience, and hands-on expertise with Altium, SIwave, and Hyperlynx.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or higher.
• 8+ years in board-level electronics design, analysis, and test.
• Experience in high-reliability electronics for space/defense.
• Owns design phase of complex boards including architecture and detailed design.
• Experience delivering hardware through production and deployment.
• Expertise in PCB layout and HDI stackup design.
• Proficient in electronics design tools (Altium).
• Lab experience for bring-up and verification.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end design of complex electronics modules and systems, from concept through production.
• Lead hardware engineering teams to develop multi-module products.
• Provide hardware domain expertise across the company.
• Develop hardware architecture and requirements for high-complexity systems.
• Create detailed schematics and PCB layouts for complex boards.
• Perform and guide SI/PI analyses and validation testing.
• Develop bring-up and verification plans for new hardware.
• Coordinate with Manufacturing for production releases.
• Mentor junior and senior engineers.
• Leverage adjacent software/mechanical knowledge to optimize designs.
