Netlify is seeking a Senior Staff Data Scientist to deepen how data shapes product and growth strategy across the PLG journey. You will turn complex data into hypotheses, experiments, and strategic recommendations that influence where we invest and what we build.

You’ll own end-to-end analytics across activation, engagement, conversion, monetization, and retention, partnering with Product and Engineering to shape product bets and test plans.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in product analytics, growth analytics, or data science with ownership and impact.
• Ability to turn behavioral data into hypotheses and drive experiments to measurable outcomes.
• Experience building analytical systems, metrics, and monitoring that scale.

Responsibilities

• Own analytical understanding of PLG performance: activation, engagement, conversion, monetization, retention.
• Partner with Product and Engineering to translate insights into product bets and tests.
• Lead experimentation from hypothesis to decision, including study design and metrics.
• Apply statistical rigor and develop judgment on when to act.
• Build scalable systems like semantic models and proactive monitoring.
• Use AI to accelerate investigation and automate recurring analyses.
• Identify gaps in measurement and collaborate with Data and Product Engineering to close them.
• Serve as trusted analytics partner to PLG leadership influencing investments and roadmap.
