Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer to define and lead the technical strategy for its Data Platform, spanning ingestion, transformation, warehousing, streaming, and serving systems.

You will drive architecture, multi-quarter roadmaps, and move toward platform-grade infrastructure powering fraud detection, analytics, and AI workloads. This role reports to the Senior Director of Engineering and collaborates with product, security, and privacy teams.

Qualifications

• 12+ years building and operating large-scale distributed data infrastructure.
• Own end-to-end technical strategy and architecture across multiple teams.
• Experience with ML pipelines and AI workloads at scale.
• Familiarity with CDC, Kafka, Databricks, Snowflake.

Responsibilities

• Own the data platform strategy and architecture.
• Architect data infra to support AI/ML workloads.
• Drive near-real-time data availability for multiple teams.
