Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Data Platform team to centralize internal and third-party data, enabling analytics, machine learning, and product experiences across the company. You will own end-to-end data services and pipelines, collaborate with data analysts, ML engineers, and security teams, and build self-service tools to monitor and troubleshoot data flows at scale.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend software engineering experience, with production data systems/pipelines.
• Proficiency in Python, Go, or Java for backend services handling data at scale.
• Experience with data infrastructure, caching, columnar storage, and scale-out patterns.

Responsibilities

• Own design, development, and operation of foundational data services and pipelines.
• Build data integration SDKs used by internal teams to interact with the data platform.
• Deliver self-service apps to help users monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines at scale.
• Architect end-to-end data security, observability, and data quality, cataloging, and lineage.
• Collaborate with data analysts, ML engineers, and security teams to create reusable data patterns.
