Job summary

Google is seeking a software engineer to drive the audio experiences roadmap across Pixel devices, spanning embedded to Android ecosystems. You will lead cross-functional teams and shape architectural improvements to deliver high-quality audio features while managing power and latency constraints.

You will collaborate with senior leadership, product management and audio research to deliver scalable solutions across platforms, driving quality and performance improvements for users worldwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of software development experience.
• 7 years of full stack development experience from embedded to high-level applications (C++, Java, Python, Kotlin or Go).
• 5 years in design/architecture and testing/launching software products.
• Experience with audio technologies (audio systems, audio research, etc.).
• Master’s/PhD preferred with 20 years in consumer electronics or audio tech would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with senior leadership, product management and research teams to define the roadmap of audio features for Pixel devices.
• Implements experiences and features across the stack from embedded to high-level OS applications.
• Leads multi-year engineering efforts across sub-component teams, owning strategy and architectural improvements for Pixel audio quality.
• Designs architectures that fit within constrained compute environments, balancing power, performance and latency tradeoffs.
• Holds teams accountable for Pixel Audio quality and delivers polished, delightful audio experiences.
