Job summary

Google is seeking a software engineer to help design and build audio experiences for Pixel devices. You will work across AI, speech, and audio interfaces, collaborating with Audio Research and partner teams to integrate new audio technology on consumer devices.

The role requires strong programming skills, embedded systems experience, and a drive to deliver high-performance, power-efficient software across the stack from firmware to apps.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year with an advanced degree.
• 2 years of experience working with embedded operating systems.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for design and development of audio experiences on Pixel devices, integrating novel audio technology and models.
• Work on features at the AI and human speech and audio interface.
• Work closely with Audio Research and other technology partner teams to integrate their offerings on Pixel phones.
• Implement experiences and features, working with codebases throughout the stack from embedded to high level OS application.
• Deliver performant solutions in highly constrained embedded compute environments, respecting power, performance, latency and user-experience tradeoffs.
