Job summary

Google is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer for Audio Systems in XR, based in San Jose, CA. You will own end-to-end audio quality across capture and playback for Google's XR glasses and wearables, and lead tuning across DSP blocks on embedded architectures.

You will align acoustics, hardware co‑design, and ML-driven enhancements, bridging physical acoustics with embedded software and multi‑disciplinary teams. In‑person interviews are required.

Qualifications

• Experience owning outcomes and decision making in complex projects.
• Proven track record in acoustic tuning for playback and capture pipelines.
• Experience shipping audio systems for wearables or consumer electronics.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end audio quality across XR glasses and wearables.
• Lead tuning team to define KPIs and optimize playback and capture DSP blocks.
• Decompose complex audio challenges into multi‑team roadmaps.
