Job summary

Google is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer to drive the consolidated multi-year roadmap of audio experiences on Pixel devices, spanning embedded systems to high-level OS applications. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development.
• 7 years of experience with full stack development, from embedded to high-level applications, in C++, Java, Python, Kotlin, or Go.
• 5 years of experience with design and architecture; and testing/launching software products.
• Experience with audio technologies (e.g., audio systems, audio features, audio research, etc).

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with senior leadership, product management, and research teams to define the roadmap of audio features for Pixel devices.
• Implements experiences and features working with codebases throughout the stack from embedded to high-level OS application.
• Leads multi-year engineering efforts across sub-component teams while owning the strategy, architectural improvements, and program methodologies required to deliver audio quality on Pixel devices.
• Designs solution architectures that enable solutions to fit within extremely constrained compute environments, respecting power, performance, latency, and user experience tradeoffs.
• Holds teams and the organization accountable for Pixel audio quality, ensuring polish and perfecting products to create delightful audio experiences for users.
