Capital One is seeking a Sr. Staff AI Engineer to advance foundational AI systems and scalable ML infrastructure.

You will partner with engineers, researchers, PMs, and product teams to deliver AI-powered products, design and deploy AI components, and optimize performance, cost, and reliability. The role emphasizes responsible AI, governance, and long-term platform strategy with mentorship of senior engineers.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in CS/AI/EE/CE or related field with 10+ years AI/ML experience.
• Master's degree with 8+ years AI/ML experience.
• Proficient in Python, Go, Scala, CUDA or Java.

Mansioni

• Deliver AI-powered products with cross-functional teams.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components (foundation models, inference, agents, vector search, guardrails).
• Leverage Open Source and SaaS AI technologies (AWS Ultraclusters, Huggingface, VectorDBs, PyTorch).
• Invent state-of-the-art foundation model optimization techniques for performance (cost, latency, throughput).
• Contribute to the technical vision and long-term roadmap of foundational AI systems.
• Define and steer the AI architecture vision for production ecosystems with reliability and scale.
• Lead AI performance, safety, and governance standards company-wide.
• Drive multi-year platform initiatives unifying data, compute and model lifecycle management.
• Mentor senior technical leaders across research, data and engineering.
