Capital One is seeking a Senior Staff AI Engineer (Remote Eligible) to design, develop, and deploy AI software components at scale. You will work across foundation model training, LLM inference, agents, vector databases, and observability within a broad tech stack including PyTorch and HuggingFace.

You will help define the technical vision for foundational AI systems, drive architectural decisions, ensure safety and governance, and mentor engineering leaders while collaborating with product,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in a technical field with extensive AI/ML experience
• Experience with Python or similar languages and large-scale AI systems
• Strong background in AI platforms, cloud deployment, and scalable architectures

Responsabilités

• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products
• Design, develop, test, deploy and support AI software components
• Leverage Open Source and SaaS AI technologies in production
• Invent optimization techniques to improve performance, cost and latency
• Lead foundational AI system architecture and governance standards
• Mentor senior technical leaders and guide platform initiatives
