Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant (Construction) in San Jose, CA, on-site, permanent, with a salary range of $105,000 to $135,000 per year. You will bridge Accounting and Payroll, owning payroll GLs, labor cost allocations, and month-end close while collaborating with HR and Operations to improve processes.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in accounting focused on GL and payroll, strong Excel skills, and ERP experience (Sage 300 preferred).

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting with a focus on general ledger reconciliations.
• Payroll accounting and labor cost experience; construction background preferred.
• Advanced Excel and ERP experience; Sage 300 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead payroll-related general ledger accounts, including taxes, benefits, and union contributions.
• Manage month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring payroll journal entries and accruals are recorded.
• Review labor cost allocations and reconcile payroll expenses to job cost records for accuracy.
• Strengthen and maintain internal controls and financial procedures to mitigate risk and support audits.
• Identify process improvements to reduce manual workflows and improve payroll-Accounting integration.
• Collaborate with HR and Operations to provide high-level financial analysis for leadership projects.
