We are seeking a motivated and proactive individual to join our Accounting Department as a Senior Staff Accountant. The ideal candidate is eager to grow and aspires to become a controller in the near future. This person must possess a strong drive to tackle challenges and navigate various scenarios effectively.

• Experience with accounting software Sage Intacct
• Ability to learn quickly
• Mortgage services industry experience preferred but not required
• Strong written, oral, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with upper management, external CPAs, and other accounting team members
• Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and complete daily functions
• Strong attention to detail
• Creativity, drive, and a proactive approach to ownership of tasks and responsibilities
• Effective analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel (VLOOKUP & pivot tables)
• Perform financial analysis and reporting
• Respond to accounting inquiries and resolve discrepancies
• Generate and distribute accurate, timely financial reports
• Conduct occasional bookkeeping tasks as needed
• Collaborate with the CFO, Director of Accounting, and other departments
• Ability to work independently (position located at company HQ but managed remotely) and within a team
• Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports

Qualifications:

• Finance or Business degree
• 3-4 years of progressive accounting experience
• CPA firm experience is advantageous
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Team player with a collaborative approach
• Ability to prepare and analyze financial reports effectively
• Willingness to work closely with senior management
