Description

TOA is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to provide accounting, reporting, and analysis of activity associated with our operations and growth initiatives. The role includes duties related to newly formed or to-be-formed entities and work on month-end close functions, including reporting. Various ad hoc analyses may be requested. This position reports directly to the controller and collaborates closely with other finance team members, as well as revenue cycle, operations, and other organizational parts.

This role will enhance department capacity to meet increasing business needs. Specifically, the Senior Accountant will:

  • Work closely with the controller and finance team, understanding revenue cycle operations to assess and report performance.
  • Prepare timely financial statements and reconcile workpapers in a multi-company environment.
  • Develop, test, and deliver ad hoc reports.
  • Provide variance analysis.
  • Coordinate with outside companies and TOA divisions for payment processing.
  • Assist in developing financial data collection and measurement tools for accuracy and efficiency.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly operating reports to drive actionable insights.
  • Develop budgets for capital expenditures and operational areas like marketing.
  • Assist in annual audits.
  • Identify inefficiencies in accounting processes and recommend improvements.
  • Train and review work of staff accountants.
Requirements

The ideal candidate should possess standard accounting skills (e.g., journal entries, reconciliations), report creation, and strong communication abilities. They should be capable of working with operations managers at various levels and external vendors. Specific qualifications include:

  • Minimum of five years of progressive accounting/finance experience demonstrating accounting skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA preferred.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in the healthcare industry.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
  • Experience with Great Plains Accounting software; NextGen experience is a plus.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; Tableau experience is advantageous.
  • Excellent analytical skills and judgment for solving day-to-day and unique problems.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure and interact effectively with staff.
  • Capable of completing tasks independently and following up on issues.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral, including presentations and board materials.
  • Knowledge of intercompany transactions.
