Job summary

Precisely is hiring a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of our infrastructure across on‑premises private cloud and AWS environments. You will define reliability standards, build automation, and lead incident response.

You will mentor engineers, participate in ORRs, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to embed resilience, security, and observability into service designs. This role is 100% remote within the United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years in systems or infrastructure engineering in an enterprise production environment.
• Advanced Linux proficiency across on‑prem and cloud environments.
• Terraform for infrastructure‑as‑code and Ansible role development.
• Experience deploying/managing AWS workloads (EC2, ECS, S3, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch).
• Python or Bash for automation; Datadog for monitoring/alerting.
• Designing monitoring and alerting architectures beyond dashboards.
• Strong TCP/IP networking, load balancing, and distributed systems knowledge.
• CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation standards experience.
• Root cause analyses for complex incidents and preventive fixes.
• Ability to define SLOs and lead ORRs; cross‑functional collaboration.
• Travel is 0%: no on‑site relocations required.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain reliability standards across CCX, RCX, HMS with SLOs/SLIs.
• Set standards for alerting, logging, and tracing; partner with engineers to implement.
• Serve as platform expert and lead complex reliability work across environments.
• Build and maintain IaC, deployment automation, monitoring, and observability tooling.
• Embed reliability, operability, scalability, and DR considerations into service design.
• Lead ORRs and validate production readiness for changes.
• Contribute to release triage, deployment coordination, and change reviews.
• Lead incident response, serve as commander during major incidents.
• Author root cause analyses and preventive automation to reduce toil.
• Maintain runbooks, reliability backlogs, and knowledge resources.
• Leverage AI tools for automation, incident analysis, and runbooks.
• Ensure security/compliance and data protection in configurations.
• Mentor engineers and participate in cross‑team design reviews.
• Coordinate on-call coverage and maintain strong operational discipline.
