Job summary

Penn Mutual is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer (Internal Title: Senior Site Reliability Engineer) to advance reliability across complex, distributed financial systems. You will design and implement strategies for automation, observability, and architectural guidance while staying hands-on with development, release, and incident triage.

You will lead incident response, drive root cause analysis, and mentor teams to reduce toil.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 6–10+ years of experience in SRE, software engineering, platform, or DevOps roles.
• Professional experience performing root cause analysis on incidents and documenting SRE systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead reliability strategy, availability, scalability, and recovery design for critical systems.
• Define and evolve SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets across services.
• Drive cross-team remediation for systemic reliability risks.
• Influence architecture to improve operational outcomes.
• Act as technical lead during major incidents and outages.
