Job summary

Early Warning Services, LLC is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to improve reliability, observability, and operational health of production services. The role partners with Software Engineering and other technology teams to ensure reliability, observability, recoverability, performance, and operational readiness are engineered into systems throughout their lifecycle.

The role independently identifies systemic reliability risks, owns broader reliability outcomes, and influences

Qualifications

• Typically 5-8 years of relevant professional experience in Software/SRE/DevOps roles.
• Experience with software development or scripting using modern programming languages.
• Experience with cloud technologies (AWS preferred) and Linux/Unix
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
• Experience with CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, containers or orchestration, observability and incident management.

Responsibilities

• Use software engineering, automation, and DevOps principles to improve how services are built, tested, deployed, observed, operated, and recovered.
• Identify reliability risks, test assumptions, and guide technical decisions using data and analysis.
• Define, implement, or improve SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, and service-health metrics.
• Improve observability through metrics, logging, tracing, monitoring, and dashboards.
• Drive CI/CD, IaC, automation, incident response, capacity management, resilience, and operational readiness.
• Identify recurring production issues and translate experience into code and tooling improvements.
• Collaborate with Software Engineering to incorporate reliability throughout the development lifecycle.
• Participate in on-call rotation and post-incident learning to reduce toil.
