Job summary

Early Warning Services LLC in San Francisco, Phoenix, Chicago, and New York seeks a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to improve reliability, observability, and operational readiness across production services. You’ll partner with software teams to embed resilience into the lifecycle and drive scalable, automated solutions.

The role emphasizes mentoring others, leading incident response, and reducing toil through reusable patterns while applying data-driven analysis and modern cloud practices.

Qualifications

• Typically 5–8 years of relevant professional experience in software or SRE.
• Experience with one or more modern programming languages.
• Experience with distributed systems, production troubleshooting, automation, and observability.
• Experience with public cloud technologies and architectures, preferably AWS, and Linux/Unix.
• Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Use software engineering, automation, and DevOps principles to improve how services are built, tested, deployed, observed, operated, and recovered.
• Use data, evidence, experimentation, and rigorous engineering analysis to identify reliability risks and guide decisions.
• Define, implement, or improve SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, and other health measures.
• Improve observability through metrics, logging, tracing, monitoring, and dashboards.
• Drive continuous improvement across CI/CD, observability, IaC, automation, and incident response.
• Identify recurring production issues and translate experience into code, patterns, and tooling improvements.
• Partner with Software Engineering to embed reliability and performance throughout the lifecycle.
• Lead or participate in incident response and blameless post-incident learning.
• Reduce operational toil through reusable patterns and better engineering practices.
