Job summary

Prosum is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to improve reliability, scalability, and operational performance of production services in the San Francisco area. The role emphasizes software engineering, automation, and DevOps to ensure reliability is integrated throughout the software development lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Typically 5–8 years of relevant professional experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with software development or scripting in one or more modern programming languages.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, automation, observability, and production troubleshooting.
• Experience working with public cloud technologies and architectures, preferably AWS.

Responsibilities

• Apply software engineering, automation, and DevOps principles to continuously improve how services are developed, tested, deployed, monitored, operated, and recovered.
• Define, implement, and improve SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, and service-health metrics.
• Enhance observability through monitoring, logging, metrics, tracing, alerting, dashboards, and instrumentation.
• Lead CI/CD, IaC, automation, testing, deployment practices, incident response, capacity management, and resilience.
• Partner with software engineering to integrate reliability, performance, and operational readiness throughout the lifecycle.
• Participate in and lead incident response, troubleshooting, and post-incident reviews.
