Job summary

Mastercard is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, Performance Engineering to optimize ABU services and scale our payment optimization platform. You will work with SREs and performance engineers to automate tests, perform bottleneck analysis, and contribute to capacity planning while maintaining high reliability and velocity.

You will apply AI-assisted tooling and data-driven insights to improve test data, scripts, and monitoring, collaborating across global teams and influencing design

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of web applications and distributed systems infrastructure.
• Experience with performance bottleneck analysis and system design for scale.
• Experience with Java Virtual Machine internals and GC tuning.
• Experience with automated performance regression test suites for low-latency, high-throughput financial applications.
• Experience analyzing performance across components, databases, caches, and networks.

Responsibilities

• Test and tune ABU services before production release via automated test suites and bottleneck analysis.
• Build, manage, and maintain robust performance testing suites.
• Measure availability, latency, throughput, and overall system health; communicate results clearly.
• Scale systems through automation and recommend improvements to reliability and velocity.
• Review incidents, drive solutions to reduce recurrence, and manage priorities independently.
• Mentor technical talent and apply automation to repeatable tasks.
