Job summary

Subway is seeking a Sr. Performance Engineer to lead enterprise‑wide performance engineering across web, mobile, kiosk, POS, loyalty and payments. This role blends hands‑on testing with reliability practices to ensure scalable systems in accelerated delivery cycles.

You will partner with SRE, Observability, DevOps and Architecture to improve reliability, run chaos experiments, and drive performance readiness for releases while shaping runbooks and executive reporting.

Qualifications

• 5–7+ years of performance engineering at enterprise scale.
• Hands-on with performance testing tools and observability platforms.
• Experience integrating performance validation into CI/CD and with chaos engineering.

Responsibilities

• Own enterprise performance engineering charter across the SDLC.
• Design and run load, stress, endurance, and scalability tests for high-traffic flows.
• Identify bottlenecks using observability signals and optimization.
• Embed performance validation into CI/CD with automated reporting.
