Job summary

Amtrak is seeking a Sr Manager of SRE/Observability to build and lead a high-performing team responsible for reliability, performance, and cost efficiency of critical platforms. You will embed SRE practices across engineering, product, and operations to turn reliability into measurable business value.

In this role you will drive SLOs, incident readiness, and automation, champion toil reduction, and ensure security-by-design while maintaining audit-ready operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 9+ years experience.
• 11+ years in Enterprise Observability, SRE, DevOps, and Infra, incl. 4+ years in people leadership.
• Deep Dynatrace expertise and cloud-native architectures.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead a diverse SRE team; set goals, performance cycles, hiring and onboarding.
• Drive coverage and quality for logs, metrics, traces, dashboards and alerts.
• Own incident management runbooks, on-call health, post-incident reviews.
• Publish reliability KPIs; align roadmaps with product priorities and budgets.
