Job summary

UJET is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer in the United States to lead reliability efforts and scale an impactful SRE function. You’ll work across architecture, tooling, and incident response to reduce toil and boost availability.

You will define SLOs, build observability, and mentor teams while partnering with product and platform to drive production readiness. This role emphasizes ownership, security, and scalable systems in a cloud-native environment.

Qualifications

• 6-10+ years in SRE, infrastructure, or backend systems engineering.
• Own reliability outcomes for complex, distributed systems.
• Experience with cloud platforms and production-scale systems.
• Strong observability, incident management, and system performance knowledge.
• Proficiency in at least one language (Go/Python/Java) with automation focus.
• Ability to influence without formal authority and make clear decisions during incidents.

Responsibilities

• Lead efforts to improve system reliability, scalability, and performance across critical services.
• Define and implement SLIs/SLOs and error budgets to guide priorities.
• Design observability systems (metrics/logging/tracing/alerts) delivering actionable data.
• Lead complex incident response as incident commander when needed.
• Conduct postmortems and ensure corrective actions are completed.
• Eliminate toil via automation, tooling, and improved workflows.
• Partner with product and platform teams on architecture and readiness.
• Build reusable systems and paved roads for reliable operation.
• Mentor engineers and raise operational maturity.
