Job summary

JPMorganChase Lead Site Reliability Engineer in Houston leads critical reliability initiatives within the KYC Technology group. You mentor engineers, conduct resiliency design reviews, and act as a technical lead for medium to large products while advising on technical and business issues.

You champion observability, drive SLOs and incident response, leverage AI-assisted workflows across CI/CD and operational readiness, and ensure security and auditability in engineering decisions.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with 5+ years of applied experience.
• Deep proficiency in reliability, scalability, performance, security, and enterprise architecture.
• Fluency in programming languages such as Python, Java Spring Boot, or .NET.
• Experience using enterprise AI capabilities to improve SRE workflows with validation and data sensitivity awareness.
• Ability to evaluate AI recommendations for correctness and risk with guardrails.
• Advanced observability and telemetry with tools like Grafana, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Datadog, and Splunk.
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, Terraform) and container orchestration (ECS, Kubernetes, Docker).
• Strong troubleshooting across common technologies.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates and champions site reliability culture and practices across the team.
• Leads initiatives to improve reliability and stability using data-driven analytics.
• Collaborates to establish service level indicators/objectives and error budgets with customers.
• Uses enterprise AI capabilities to accelerate incident triage and post-incident analysis.
• Leads reuse-first adoption of AI-assisted reliability workflows across SDLC practices.
• Demonstrates deep technical expertise and resolves bottlenecks in areas of expertise.
• Acts as main contact during major incidents to quickly resolve issues and minimize losses.
• Documents and shares knowledge within the organization.
