Job summary

AbbVie is seeking a Lead Site Reliability Engineer to drive reliability, availability, and operational excellence for our large-scale, public-facing software. You will own SLO/SLI frameworks, observability, and incident management, while mentoring engineers across the organization.

You will collaborate with the Cloud Platform team to ensure production readiness, implement IaC (Terraform) and Kubernetes configurations, and align reliability with business goals.

Qualifications

• Hands-on SRE leadership with focus on reliability and platform excellence.
• Experience building and operating large-scale public-facing services.
• Proficient in scripting/programming for automation (Python/Go).
• Proven ability to design and implement observability, metrics, and incident processes.

Responsibilities

• Define and champion SLO/SLI frameworks and error budget decisions.
• Own observability strategy across services: metrics, logs, traces, alerts.
• Lead capacity planning, load testing, and chaos testing for critical services.
• Establish production readiness reviews and improve release procedures.
• Provide technical mentorship and drive reliability improvements across teams.
