Job summary

AbbVie is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer for the Cyber Security Engineering team. The role focuses on ensuring production systems used by security teams remain highly available while reducing toil through automation.

The team operates in a hybrid environment with on-prem and cloud-native components, emphasizing GitOps, microservices, and scalable observability across platforms. Remote work is available nationwide in the United States.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree with 7 years’ experience; Master’s Degree with 6 years’ experience; PhD with 2 years’ experience.
Knowledge of Cloud Platform administration (AWS, GCP, Azure).
Experience with CI/CD tools (GithubActions, Bamboo, Jenkins, Azure DevOps).
Familiarity with Kubernetes/Amazon ECS for docker workloads.
Experience with Agile / DevOps methodologies.
Strong observability and telemetry background (OpenTelemetry, Prometheus/Grafana).

Responsibilities

Architect new and existing systems to enhance performance, reliability, and scalability.
Build and iterate CI/CD pipelines.
Assist with development and deployment of microservice and containerized apps.
Implement strong security controls in distributed systems.
Automate deployments and configurations across platforms with engineers.
Develop scalable observability and alerts/monitoring tooling.
Promote DevOps best practices and Agile/Scrum.
Contribute to hybrid cloud production containerization services.
