Job summary

AbbVie is seeking a Lead Site Reliability Engineer to drive reliability and operational excellence for Allergan Aesthetics’ large-scale public-facing software. You will own SRE practices, mentor engineers, and turn ideas into high-fidelity plans that align reliability with business goals.

You will champion SLO/SLI frameworks, observability, capacity planning, and robust release procedures, while leveraging Terraform, Kubernetes, and Datadog to improve platform resilience.

Qualifications

• Proven track record running SLO/error budgets and incident management for large-scale production systems.
• Deep experience with observability platforms and alert design.
• Proficient with Terraform and Kubernetes on AWS; able to read and contribute infrastructure code.
• Strong scripting/programming skills (Python, Go) for automation.

Responsibilities

• Define and champion SLO/SLI frameworks and error budgets to balance reliability and features.
• Own observability across services with actionable metrics, logs, traces, and alerts.
• Lead capacity planning, load testing, and resilience/chaos testing for critical services.
• Establish production readiness reviews and improve release procedures with teams.
• Mentor engineers on reliability and automation; drive platform improvements.
