Job summary

AbbVie in Irvine, CA, seeks a Lead Site Reliability Engineer for Allergan Aesthetics. You will drive reliability, availability, and operational excellence for large-scale public-facing software and mentor engineers across the Cloud Platform team.

You will own observability, incident response, capacity planning, automation with Terraform and Kubernetes on AWS, and partner with development teams to improve services and reduce toil.

Qualifications

• Hands-on SRE leader with proven incident management experience.
• Strong scripting and automation skills (Python/Go).
• Experience with observability platforms and alerting design.

Responsibilities

• Define and champion SLO/SLI frameworks and error budgets.
• Own observability strategy across services (metrics/logs/traces).
• Lead capacity planning, load testing, and resilience testing.
• Establish production readiness reviews with development teams.
• Automate toil and build self-healing systems.
• Analyze OS and app metrics to drive performance improvements.
• Contribute reliability improvements via Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform) and Kubernetes.
• Own incident response processes and postmortems.
• Participate in on-call rotations and provide hands-on support during incidents.
• Collaborate on architecture decisions for reliability risks before launch.
• Define and maintain reliability standards and track compliance.
• Stay current with SRE trends and tooling.
