Job summary

Bank of America is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer in Jersey City to design, implement, and mature reliability capabilities across platforms. You will automate services, define SLIs/SLOs, and improve observability while driving incident management and production readiness.

The role emphasizes IaC, automation, and engineering-first operational practices to reduce toil and improve service reliability in a complex financial services environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in platform, systems, or infrastructure engineering with automation focus.
• Experience transforming traditional operations into SRE-led models with observability and AIOps.
• Operationalizing SRE concepts including SLIs, SLOs, and incident improvements.
• Hands-on design of observability using metrics, logs, traces, and telemetry.
• Automation through IaC and event-driven remediation; scalable reliability improvements.
• Collaborating with multiple teams to set reliability standards and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Design visual dashboards and metrics for production readiness and SRE visibility.
• Develop software or processes to reduce toil and improve reliability.
• Partner with Development and Infra teams on error budgets and SLOs, add instrumentation.
• Identify capacity bottlenecks and improve system reliability with automation.
• Assess monitoring for changes and enhance dashboards and monitoring designs.
• Lead incident triage and root cause analysis; drive data-driven improvements.
• Define SLIs/SLOs and health reporting for on‑prem and cloud platforms.
• Develop IaC modules and CI/CD patterns to enhance consistency and compliance.
