Job summary

Bank of America in Jersey City is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to own the reliability of our cloud platforms, drive production readiness, and advance observability across GCP and Azure environments.

You will mentor SREs, develop Terraform modules, strengthen CI/CD patterns, and collaborate with security and governance teams to embed policy-as-code and compliance into cloud operations.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure engineering, platform engineering, or cloud operations with exposure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Hands-on IaC experience using Terraform for provisioning.
• Solid software engineering fundamentals with version control and testing practices for infrastructure code.
• Experience developing Terraform modules and configurations for automated cloud environments.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployment and automated release processes.
• DevSecOps mindset with security and compliance checks embedded in workflows.
• Good understanding of GCP services, networking (VPCs, IAM, load balancing), and enterprise governance requirements.
• Experience supporting automation/standardization to improve cloud deployment efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Serve as senior technical authority for GCP platform reliability, resiliency, observability, automation, and production readiness.
• Design and implement reliability patterns for Azure landing zones, DNS, firewalls, and workload onboarding.
• Lead complex platform reliability initiatives and enterprise dashboard automation.
• Define and mature SLIs/SLOs, alerting standards, and service health reporting.
• Develop Terraform modules and automation frameworks to improve consistency and compliance.
• Drive observability improvements using Log Analytics, Dynatrace, and enterprise monitoring tools.
• Mentor SRE engineers and raise the technical bar for automation and troubleshooting.
• Partner with security/governance teams to integrate IAM, policy-as-code, and audit readiness.
• Create executive-ready reliability summaries and design reusable runbooks and health checks.
• Collaborate with development teams to align SLOs and improve service reliability.
